The adventure begins in Renowned Explorers: International Society!
After the success of its god-game Reus, Abbey Games has tried its hand again at creating an original PC game with a classic genre. A frolic into a fictitious 19th Century world, the Age of Discovery, as explorers scouring the planet for precious treasure; as well as a combination of strategic gameplay and an adventurous theme and art style plus Abbey Games’ innovative ‘Attitude-based gameplay’, Renowned Explorers: International Society was born.
But what is ‘Attitude-based gameplay’? Abbey Games describes this as a new type of tactical turn-based combat, where you can choose how to interact with various locals that you encounter- whether that be in a physical or a social sense. Each unique explorer (of which there are 20) can be sorted into Fighters, Scouts, Speakers and Scientists– which gives an indication of their strengths in dealing with these locals. Do bear in mind however that each of your choices have a bearing upon your reputation!
Other features of the game include:
- Earn your place against history’s greatest explorers such as David Livingstone with the Renowned International Society’s ‘Explorer of Legend’ ranking
- Procedurally generated expeditions
- Strategic crew selection
- Many routes to fame
Renowned Explorers: International Society is available on Steam, GoG, Greenman Gaming, Humble Bundle and GamesRocket, with there currently being a temporary 10% discount. Those who also buy Reus on Steam, GoG and Humble Bundle will also get a 25% loyalty discount on Renowned Explorers. On Steam, it is available for £13.49 for the UK, and $17.99 for the US.
