Captain Marvel
Before you settle down to watch an epic Avengers showdown with Avengers: Endgame, you can enjoy mesmerizing superhero antics with Captain Marvel, who gets caught in the middle of a galactic war between two alien species.
The plot follows Carol Danvers, who escalates into one of the most powerful superheroes in the world when planet Earth comes face to face with two alien races. The story is set in the 1990s, presenting an adventure from a period that has not yet been seen in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Brie Larson plays Carol Danvers, Samuel L. Jackson is Nick Fury and Ben Mendelsohn as Talos in what promises to be Captain Marvel classic.
Captain Marvel will be in cinemas from March 8, 2019.
Joker
Keeping up with the superhero/villain theme and giving Marvel a run for its money, Joker will be coming to cinemas later in the year with a release date of October 4, 2019.
Directed by American director, screenwriter, producer and actor Todd Phillips, Joker is based on the iconic DC Comics’ villain, the Joker. The American crime thriller tracks the story of a failed stand-up comedian who has been driven insane and becomes a psychopathic murderer, known as the Joker.
Who could be better to play Batman’s infamous, evil villain Joker than Joaquin Phoenix?
With Robert de Niro starring alongside Joaquin Phoenix, it stands to reason that film fans will make Joker part of their movie-going itinerary in 2019.
Glass
If science-fiction is up your street, then you may be interested in going to see Glass, released on January 18, 2019.
The new Hollywood blockbuster marks the final film in M. Night Shyamalan’s Unbreakable series. Glass brings together the two narratives of his standout movies – Unbreakable from the year 2000 and Split, released in 2016.
Bruce Willis returns as David Dunn and Samuel L. Jackson retains the role of Elijah Price – aka Mr. Glass.
The early reviews for Glass aren’t especially favorable, with critics appraising the movie as a “disappointing trilogy conclusion” and the much-anticipated thriller being an “underwhelming missed opportunity.”
Though with Bruce Willis, Samuel L. Jackson, James McAvoy and Sarah Paulson starring together, you’ll perhaps want to make your own mind up about what you think of Glass.
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood
Tarantino fans are in for a treat in 2019 with Once Upon a Time in Hollywood coming to our screens. Like most Tarantino films, this upcoming mystery crime movie is both written and directed by the iconic American writer and director.

Star Wars: Episode IX is directed by J.J. Adams from a script Adams co-wrote with Chris Terrio and is a continuation of 2015’s The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi of 2017.
The late Carrie Fisher will appear in the movie via footage that wasn’t used from The Force Awakens. The release of what has been referred to as the final film of the Skywalker sage is scheduled to be released on December 20, 2019.
