The full version of WRATH: Aeon of Ruin launches today on PC!
WRATH: Aeon of Ruin, a dark fantasy horror FPS developed by KillPixel Games and Slipgate Ironworks, and published by 3D Realms and Fulqrum Publishing, transitions from Early Access to version 1.0 today. In its 1.0 release, WRATH introduces a new hub, three boss battles concluding each episode, three new weapons, four new enemies, two new Sigils, and five new Artifacts, alongside a fully fleshed-out story for players to engage with. In addition to the new content, WRATH 1.0 brings a range of updates and improvements, including a tutorial to familiarize players with gameplay mechanics and the game world, as well as enhancements to enemy AI and overall game performance. In WRATH, players take on the role of the Outlander amidst the ruins of The Old World, guided by the enigmatic Shepherd of Wayward Souls on a mission to eliminate the remaining Guardians of the Old World.
Players explore corrupted temples, mystical forests, and decaying ruins interconnected by WRATH‘s hub world, uncovering treasures and engaging in intense firefights with relentless adversaries along the way. Combat in WRATH involves utilizing nine distinct weapons with varied firepower and versatility, from shotguns to biological weaponry like the Retcher. The game’s fast-paced FPS combat mirrors classic shooters while offering its own unique experience. WRATH pays homage to classics like QUAKE while carving out its own identity, delivering an old-school FPS experience accompanied by a dark atmosphere and a heavy metal soundtrack. WRATH: Aeon of Ruin is now available on PC via Steam, Epic Game Store, and GOG for $24.99, with a 15% discount during its first week. Console releases are slated for later in 2024.
