Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Frontline announced!
The Ghost Recon universe is expanding! Ubisoft welcomes their new original game Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Frontline, a free-to-play PvP shooter that is set in the Ghost Recon universe. Ghost Recon Frontline will be available for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, Luna, Stadia, and Ubisoft Connect for Windows PC with full crossplay at game launch. Players are now already registering for the first test phase from October 14 to 21 via ghostreconfrontline.com.
Ghost Recon Frontline was developed by Ubisoft Bucharest, the studio that also worked on Ghost Recon Wildlands and Ghost Recon Breakpoint. Ghost Recon Frontline offers a new and never-before-seen way for players to explore the Ghost Recon universe, with a free-to-play, PvP first person, military experience with over 100 players simultaneously.
In Ghost Recon Frontline, players will discover the island of Drakemoor, an open world filled with various landmarks and biomes. The game comes with a large set of tactical tools, giving players complete freedom in all game modes. Expedition, the game’s flagship game, takes the battle royal genre to a whole new level with a completely new angle. The more than 100 players form squads of three people in a huge open map with no shrinking circle. These squads must work together to gather the correct information, after which they must travel together to a drop zone to call an extraction. As soon as the latter is successful, all squads will be notified of the location of the extraction and it will be up to them to intervene. Players must proceed tactically to successfully escape and thus win. Other game modes will be introduced at launch.
Ghost Recon Frontline also comes with a unique and advanced class system that allows players to upgrade and customize each contractor according to their strategy. During the first closed test, there are three classes available:
- Assault Class offers many advantages in close-range combat and general skill maneuvers.
- Support Class offers benefits in the form of superior protection with reinforcement options.
- Scout Class can easily explore the area for the squad and reveal and harass enemies from a distance.
Players can switch between different contractors even in the heat of battle, making each game unique and highly tactical.
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Ghost Recon franchise, players can download the first game in the series, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, for free on Ubisoft Connect. In addition, the Fallen Ghost DLC is free for all Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands players and the Deep State Adventure DLC will also be free for all Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Breakpoint players on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Stadia and Windows PC via Ubisoft Connect and the Epic Games Store until October 11.
