What we can expect from developer NIS in 2021!

As the world has been in lockdown turmoil for the last year, the gaming market is roaring stronger than ever. Aside from publishers and developers announcing and presenting their games as usual (but digitally this time), there are also many new gamers who discovered this past-time activity. For fans and new players alike, NIS brought us an update. What can we expect from them in 2021?

R-Type Final 2

Sidescrolling flying shooter action with R-Type Final 2 is exactly what you would expect from a sequel. Classic gameplay based on old games but with a beautiful coating. Flashy, colorful, patterns and spaceships. Coming really soon (April 30th, 2021) to PS4, Switch, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

void tRrLM();++ or Void Terrarium++

Void Terrarium is a well-known game for those who follow NIS. It’s been previously released on Switch and PS4, but now it’s coming to PS5. With the same roguelike gameplay, tighter graphics, and some extras… You can find all this on May 18th in the US, and May 21th in Europe.

World’s End Club

World’s End Club might be our favorite from the upcoming games of NIS. It has everything NIS; the dark, the kiddy, the adventurous, the original. Coming to the Switch, this is a game about surviving in a dangerous world, fighting for your life, and quirky characters. Expected May 28th, 2021.

Disgaea 6: Defiance of Destiny

Disgaea is, like the title states, not a new series. This is an oldie and that it’s already time for the 6th part also tells us something about the unique qualities the series has. Follow lowly, disregarded undead Zed as he starts rising to the top with over-the-top tactical combat. For Switch only, coming June 29th, 2021.

The Silver Case 2425

Remember The Silver Case? With multiple games already released, it was time to bring those to the Switch. The Silver Case and The 25th Ward are part visual novel and part choice-driven game with weird gameplay. The games have reached somewhat of a cult status, and now The Silver Case 2425 is bundling both and arriving for the Switch July 6th, 2021 in the US, and July 9th in Europe.

The Caligula Effect 2

The Caligula Effect has no clear release date yet, but so far we know it will be Fall 2021. Continue the story with the Go-Home Club, a club of people who realize they are stuck in a fake world, doing whatever it takes to get back to the real world. While the first game wasn’t great, the second might be better.

And that’s not all! There is more to be announced with exact release dates. Earlier we already took note of a NIS Classics compilation, and presumably even more will follow! What game are you excited for most?
