Yooka-Laylee – Release Date Announced!
From Playtonic games, formed by most of the creative talent behind truly classic platformers such as Banjo Kazooie, comes the highly anticipated, open-world, kickstarted platformer; Yooka-Laylee. Announced today, Yooka-Laylee will be released on Aprill 11th 2017 for PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One platforms. A version was originally intended to be released on Wii-U too, but had to scrapped due to “unforseen technical issues”, but cry not, Nintendo fans. Yooka-Laylee is now intended to start development for Nintendo’s upcoming Switch platform, and Wii-U kickstarter backers will be able to change to another platform or upgrade to play on the Nintendo Switch instead.
Also released was a trailer for one of Yooka-Laylee’s five worlds; Capital Cashino, which will be fully explorable and promises a host of challenges to complete. Kickstarter backers will soon have the ability to upgrade to physical versions of the game, if they desire and pre-ordering offers a glimpse into what you can expect upon release by giving you access to the Yooka-Laylee Toybox, which is a spoiler-free sandbox for you to explore.
