Zendaya coaches tennis in romcom sports movie Challengers
From Italian director Luca Guadagnino – famous for among other things the queer coming-of-age movie Call Me by Your Name – Challengers is a romcom drama centered around tennis and love triangles. Zendaya plays Tashi Duncan, a former tennis champion who has given up the sport and instead coaches others. Among those she coaches, she tries to boost the career of her new husband Art, played by Mike Faist. But when the tournament pits them against Tashi’s ex-lover and Art’s former best friend Patrick (played by Josh O’Connor), things get a little messy. Tennis will need to take a backseat when relationship drama thrives. You can watch the trailer below if you’re curious about what that looks like.
