Overwatch 2 early access launch announced at Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022

At the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase 2022, the launch date of Overwatch 2, the second installment in the Overwatch games series was announced. This new installment will be free-to-play from launch and will offer a new competitive multiplayer experience with new heroes, maps, and much more.

On the fourth of October this year, Overwatch 2 will launch in early access with new dynamic content across PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and Nintendo Switch. With a new 5 vs. 5 multiplayer format and cross-play and cross-platform progression, you can easily play with all your friends and also easily bring your progress with you.

At launch, players will have the chance to acquire the new tank hero: the Junker Queen, a very agile railgun-swinging former Overwatch captain with cybernetic powers. She is the second new hero and the 34th overall hero in the franchise. More details about the Junker Queen, Overwatch 2’s live service model, and seasonal content will be shown during the Overwatch 2 Reveal Event Livestream that will take place on June 16.
