Nordic Games’ Gamescom 2014 line-up revealed with additional surprises
Gamescom is coming closer and we’ve already seen a few line-ups from other game developers. This time Nordic Games reveals their utmost epic line-up for Gamescom 2014 which is held in Cologne, Germany.
First things first, some may remember that Nordic Games has bought the rights to a handful of THQ titles a while ago. At the start of Gamescom, you can expect to see news of three of these projects, namely the third installment of SpellForce, The Guild 3 will be announced and last but certainly not least a third chapter will be added to Aquanox under the name of Aquanox: Deep Descent. These games will be behind closed door and will not be open to the public. This brings me to the actual line-up of Nordic Games titles which will be available for the public at their Gamescom booth located in Hall 4.2 from 13th to 15th of August.
The Book of Unwritten Tales 2
The sequel to The Book of Unwritten Tales has reached their funding goals on KickStarter and to celebrate this, the KING Art developers will be showing off the newest installment in the series. Once more you will be able to find The Critter, Wilbur, Princess Ivo and Nate who have returned to Aventásia only to leave on a new adventure in this classic point-and-click adventure game. The sequel will offer even more puzzles, objects, characters and locations than the first part with about twenty hours of gameplay.
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter
The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is a dark and mysterious fiction thriller developed by The Astronauts who are best known for their previous artwork People Can Fly. In The Vanishing of Ethan Carter players have taken the role of a detective with supernatural abilities who is investigating the disappearance of a young boy named Ethan.
The devs mentioned that The Vanishing of Ethan Carter is best played alone, in the dark which tells us that the fictional thriller will certainly put you on the edge of your chair. The trailer will certainly send some chills down your spine.
MX vs. ATV – Supercross
Another franchise that was previously owned by THQ that is now in the hands of Nordic Games is the MX vs. ATV series. Those that love the adrenaline that comes with fast motorcycles can look forward to the next installment of MX vs. ATV, namely MX vs. ATV Supercross which is announced for PS3, Xbox 360 and PC.
The newest installment will feature no less than seventeen supercross racetracks, a career mode with five series of bikes, a multiplayer with up to twelve players, the traditional split screen mode for two local players and much more. To give you the best of the best, the game will feature over eighty licensed motorcross companies and over forty AI racers that are based upon professional riders. If that isn’t enough authenticity for you, the game will also include a real-time terrain deformation.
