Return to the Golf Club Nostalgia world in The Cub next month
Demagog Studio and Untold Tales have announced the scheduled release date for The Cub. The game is currently under development by Demagog Studio, a collective with bases in Serbia and Tokyo. They are known for previous works such as the thought-provoking post-apocalyptic Golf Club Nostalgia and the imaginative flooded-Earth explorer Highwater. In The Cub, the team revisits the neon-lit, satirical dystopian Earth after the events of Golf Club Nostalgia. Players engage in platform parkour within the remnants of humanity, embodying an evolved child pursued by those who had fled to Mars decades ago but have now returned with their focus on the protagonist.
Throughout the journey, players will be accompanied by the smooth-voiced radio host of Radio Nostalgia from Mars, providing a blend of stories, apocalypse-wave tunes, and Mars living announcements to illustrate the dystopian world. Additionally, the team has released a new Steam demo to allow players to experience the game firsthand. The Cub is set to launch on January 19th on PC, PS4, PS5, and Nintendo Switch. Although initially intended for Xbox as well, the team has redirected resources, leading to the postponement of the Xbox release until further notice.
