Yesterday, February fifth, saw the release of Japanese horror game Underward on PC. In this game, a mix between Lethal Company and Phasmophobia, players take on the role of investigators and have to find various experimental objects on the floors of underground hospitals. Once players have met the collection quota of a floor they can move on to the next floor and continue their search.
Join up with up to three friends or go at it all alone, navigate a way through randomly generated, maze-like hospital wards while avoiding the attacks of nurses turned into monsters. Look for the culture capsule of your floor while avoiding deadly monsters that get released over time. Adding to the stress is the fact that voice chat is tied to being in close range of your friends. Luckily useful items that you find carry over between the levels and any useless items you find can be turned in to gain collection rewards, so you can roll the gacha with an item that your friends died to get. When everyone dies, all the progress you made is lost, however, so you have to play tactically. How far will you go?
Underward was released on Steam on wednesday, February 5, and is available for $7.99 but during the launch period, you can enjoy a price reduction.
