Halloween breaks a world record in cosplay
Developers do weird things sometimes to advertise their games, though also very cool things. You can make up your mind about which category this falls into: to celebrate their upcoming asymmetrical stealth horror game Halloween (based on the movie franchise of the same name with slasher Michael Myers, obviously), IllFonic dropped the first playable demo at PAX East and called upon cosplayers to show up in the killer’s iconic garb. In doing so, they broke the Guinness World Record of having a gathering with the most people dressed like Michael Myers. Will it make the game more popular? Who knows. But it sure has led to some fun pictures. Halloween launches on September 8th, 2026, for PC and consoles.
