Rocket League – Revenge of the Battle-Cars DLC Pack – Review
Since our review of Rocket League a couple of months back, two DLC packs have made it through to the fans. Supersonic Fury was the first, and Revenge of the Battle-Cars is the second pack we’re taking a look at. Get ready to make your cars even fancier and diverse with a whole load of new items to use in customization.
Revenge of the Battle-Cars brings a little bit of vintage Rocket League to the game. Scarab and Zippy from the original game, Supersonic Acrobatic Rocket-Powered Battle-Cars, can now be found inside this DLC pack. These cars have been remastered to look better and of course give them the Rocket League feeling we’ve all come to know and love.
Furthermore, there are 25(!!!) new items to take into account. Scarab and Zippy each have six unique decals, ranging from hearts to flames, tiger stripes to tribals and many more. They’ll help you distinguish your look from the rest even more than you’ve been able to before. Then we have three new paint types: Toon Glossy, Toon Matte and Toon Wood, which as the name suggests gives them a “toony” look combined with different textures.
We also have new wheels, rocket boosts, toppers and antennas. The coolest things to note here are the rocket boosts and toppers. Accelerato and Battle-Stars are the new rocket trails and they look great. Accelerato will display a trail of music notes behind you and play a badass rock track every time you use it, and Battle-Stars will shoot stars out of your exhaust. The antennas are also really cool, they include the Locomotive, a typical train drivers’ hat with a train circling it, the pixelated (“deal with it”) shades, a shark fin and a cavalier hat, for if your car isn’t fancy enough yet.
Conclusion
All in all, Psyonix brings yet another really cool DLC pack to the game. It has some really neat items and a lot of them for its price. Now you have even more countless combinations to make your car stand out. Another plus is that this DLC is completely cosmetic and won’t give any advantage over players who don’t have it, which is really the way to go for Rocket League.
