Monster Hunter Online
A new Monster Hunter game is coming, the Monster Hunter franchise has a fervent appeal in Asia where the franchise is highly beloved and popular. In the US and Europe the franchise hasn’t exactly found the same kind of reception. The franchise has tried almost every platform under the sun to capture the same popularity that it holds on Japan to no avail.
This time the franchise is making its way to a new platform with a new payment system. Tencent and Capcom have decided to take Monster Hunter to the PC with a new Free-to-Play MMO. Monster Hunter Online will make use of Crytek’s CryEngine 3 for the game, the franchise has never been one to concern itself with its visuals and instead relies almost entirely on the addicting gameplay it requires to enjoy the game.
The game is making use of its new engine to implement brand new features to the franchise such as, vehicles that will be used to both transport you around the world and in combat, along with a night and day time cycle, and dynamic weather that will effect how certain monsters behave in the game.
Sadly for those of you who don’t live in Japan you won’t be able to easily play the upcoming Monster Hunter Online as at the moment it doesn’t seem to be coming to Europe or the US. If you live in Japan or you’re planning to find a way to play the game regardless the Beta is set to start in June.
