Ale Abbey brews up an Early Access release

Developer Hammer & Ravens and publisher Shiro Unlimited have launched their medieval brewery simulation game Ale Abbey in Early Access today. In Ale Abbey, players take on the role of an Abbot working to expand a monastery into a successful brewery. This involves constructing new facilities, hiring staff, and researching brewing techniques, all while managing the spiritual responsibilities of the monks and the needs of the surrounding community. Expanding the abbey’s brewing operations requires strategic decisions, such as investing in a library for recipe research or hiring experienced brewmasters to optimize production. Various upgrades are available to enhance efficiency and build the monastery’s reputation in the world of craft beer.
As the abbey gains recognition, players can interact with neighboring towns and villages, learn about local beer preferences, and engage with the community by providing aid to those in need. Additional choices include negotiating with bandits for protection or establishing relationships with influential officials to support the monastery’s growth. The game features an original soundtrack composed by Return to Monkey Island’s Clint Bajakian. Ale Abbey is now available on PC in Early Access via Steam for $14.99 / €14.99 / £12.79, with a 10% launch discount for the first 14 days.
