AVM FRITZ!Box 7590 AX – Hardware Review
Over the last few months, we have been covering quite a few of AVM’s products. The hardware manufacturer produces great routers and repeaters, making sure we get internet coverage in every nook and cranny of our house or office. The brand’s products work perfectly in sync with each other, and they create their own ecosystem. This means that it’s often best to stick with AVM products if you’re thinking of getting premium-quality hardware. Recently we discussed the FRITZ!Box 7530 AX, and now we have its slightly more powerful sibling, the 7590 AX. As this product is very similar to the 7530 AX model, there aren’t that many additional features we can discuss.
As for the 7590 AX’s design, you’ll notice that this is not really any different from the 7530 AX. We reckon this is also why AVM bolds the two final numbers of the product model on their product boxes to avoid confusion. This means that we were treated to the very familiar good-looking sleek white router that does not have too many bells and whistles. The router will go with any type of interior. The product once again comes with several ethernet ports to make sure you can still access the internet via ethernet cable, but this is also a WiFi 6-supported device, guaranteeing very quick wireless upload and download speeds. Of course, these speeds are heavily dependent on your actual internet subscription’s speed. If you have a subscription with low upload and download speeds, the 7590 AX will probably not be the best solution for you. If you have a decent subscription you will certainly notice an increase in stability and data transfer speeds compared to a stock router.
The installation process for these devices is always a matter of following the steps described in the manual. We would love to suggest things to do if the installation doesn’t go as planned, but we haven’t encountered any issues with setting up any of AVM’s products so far. You have the specific OS that can also help you access various settings and updates, but for the most part, you should be good to go without having to go through any advanced settings. Most modern devices guarantee a hassle-free setup, and it’s no exception for this new router.
For those wanting to learn more about the device and its precise specs, we suggest taking a look at the technical specifications on the official site. The product has the latest technology embedded in the device. You’ll find that this is a WiFi 6 device, that it has mesh capabilities, 4 ethernet ports, USB 3.0 ports, and so on. The device works particularly well with AVM’s repeaters if you have a larger area to cover. For this, we can advise the FRITZ!Repeater 6000 when having to cover a larger area or the FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX if you’re only looking to give a small area an extra boost in signal strength.
Conclusion
AVM’s FRITZ!Box 7590 AX is a proper step up from the 7530 AX model. The router will mostly shine when you have a premium internet subscription, as you’re then able to stream content at great speeds and at a higher quality, but also online gaming and work-related internet usage should be no issue either. When combined with one of the FRITZ!Repeater products, you’ll create a great WiFi 6 environment in your home.
