Batman: Arkham Origins

Batman: Arkham Origins

Batman: Arkham Origins has just been announced on the cover of this months Game Informer magazine.

Instead of a silver age Batman game from Rocksteady we are getting a Batman game set in Gotham before he has come face to face with several important villains, such as Deathstroke. The game is set in Gotham City on Christmas Eve as 8 of the most infamous Assassin’s in the world come to kill The Batman.

The game won’t be retelling Batman’s Origins, thankfully, instead its set to show us how Arkham Asylum’s version of Batman first encountered some of his more famous villains.

Luckily you won’t have to wait for long as the game is set to release on October 25th on the Wii U, Playstation 3, Xbox 360, and PC this year.

Along with the announcement of the new console Arkham games was the announcement of Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate, for the Nintendo 3DS and Playstation Vita, which is set to launch the same time as its bigger console brethren. The hand held Blackgate game’s story takes place after the events of the console game, and is a 2.5D Metroid-styled game.
