Book of Demons to pay tribute to classic hack’n’slash games

While some RPG’s prefer a more frivolous tone, Book of Demons is a dark fantasy action RPG wanting to return to the macabre (yet humorous) roots of the genre. Taking place in the Paperverse universe (a world where everything is made out of folded paper), the game is part of the Return 2 Games series, which is inspired by the “golden days” of PC gaming.

Other than a wonderfully typical old school RPG atmosphere, Book of Demons promises intricate gameplay mechanisms. The game focuses on replayability, and is built around a specifically designed card system unifying spells, items and skills. The game’s unique sounding gameplay mechanisms are meant as a tribute to old hack’n’slash games such as Diablo 1. Book of Demons will also feature randomised dungeons, an extensive single player campaign with 3 character classes, and lots of humor.

PC fans of the genre may expect the game in the third quarter of 2016. For those who can’t wait, we recommend checking out the trailer, which showcases how Book of Demons will pay tribute to the classics in its genre.
