Get ready for yet another cooking game, that will take your mind to a wonderful place with the most delicious meals. Are you cooks ready for an adventure that will nurture your culinary soul? Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! will grant you access to a tower that houses multiple establishments, each with their own challenges. It is up to you to see if you can work your way up from a tiny cafe owner to a 5-star restaurant owner. Blood, sweat and tears will be shed in this challenging game, so gear up with your knives and spatulas.

Story

Like most cooking simulators, this game doesn’t have a storyline added to it. You work your way through the campaign by managing all the restaurants in the Teragon Supertower, while in the meantime your character slowly levels up. As a starting chef in the Teragon Supertower, you can only visit one place. By getting better, trying new recipes and earning medals; more doors will open for your culinary talent. But even if you make the most amazing dishes, if you don’t listen to your customers, you’ll still fail horribly. So don’t forget, the customer is always right!

Graphics

The developers made sure that the graphics of the customers looked kind of fun and abstract as they aren’t your average type of NPCs that you are used to. The rest of the game’s decor follows the same guidelines. It seems like their goal was to make you laugh a little, a lot of props are so silly that we even cracked a smile once in a while. The food, on the other hand, is absolutely stunning. It looks picture perfect and made us quite hungry.

Sound

Sound wise the game is alright. In the restaurants, you are provided with some background music that fits the music we would hear if we went to a restaurant or bistro in real life. What makes this game stand out is that they made sure that every action has a specific noise. Besides the cooking aspect, they give you some other chores during your shift. Each chore has a characteristic sound added to it. So, If you need to go to the restroom, you will hear a flushing toilet. If you need to jump on the trash to make it fit in the container you will certainly hear the kicking noise. Of course, the preparation of the food has all the sounds you can imagine as well.

Gameplay

Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! is a cooking simulator or as the developers like to call it: ‘An intense hardcore restaurant simulator.’ The main goal is obviously cooking delicious food and treating customers like kings and queens. If you don’t… well the game will punish you accordingly. You need to stay sharp and focused in order to complete the perfect shift and earn those medals.

First of all, the game gives you the choice to play a bunch of tutorials. Those aren’t necessary, but we will advise you to reconsider the thought of not doing them. Because Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! is hardcore, perhaps the most hardcore cooking game out there. Get to know the controls and try out your first shift.

After the tutorials, we can go straight to The Teragon Supertower. Upon your arrival, there will only be one restaurant you can start working in. After playing a while more and more of these restaurants will be unlocked. The concept of this work is quite simple. You start your day with a few orders and maybe get a toilet break and get yourself ready for ‘Rush hour’, an hour in which you get bombarded with orders and chores. This happens twice a day. After that you will complete your last orders and close up.

There are a few things you need to take care of. First of all, most restaurants have hot or cold side dishes, those are ‘bigger’ dishes you prepare in advance and they have multiple portions, depending on which dish you make. You also have the orders of the customers you need to prepare while they are waiting. And besides those, there are a few chores you also need to perform, like taking out the trash, getting rid of bugs, etc.

When your shift is done your performance of that day will be rated, if you have less than eight mistakes you get a bronze medal, less than five you get a silver medal and when you haven’t made any mistakes at all you get a gold medal. How better you play, the more experience you get and when you level up, you can get furniture or decor pieces for your own restaurant model. So after a while, you can go decorate your own restaurant decor.

Conclusion

Cook, Serve, Delicious! 2!! is a great cooking game with a lot of variety in it. After a while, you can enjoy the many restaurants and foods this game has to offer. Although we need to warn you that this game is extremely stressful and time-consuming if you want to get all the gold medals that you can earn. Besides that, you will definitely enjoy the abstract look of the game and how beautiful every dish looks.
