This weekend, Bruges cultural center, in Belgium, will open its cultural season with the third edition of the free game festival Playtime. Titled Playtime 20.22, this edition will be held from Friday, September 16th to Sunday, September 18th. It was initially scheduled for March 2022 but postponed due to Covid-19 measures. The Bruges cultural center decided to enjoy it then with avatars in a virtual Royal Theater. In September, the staff will throw open the center’s doors in real life. With more than 2500 visitors in the second edition of the game festival, Bruges CC is getting ready for a thunderous season start.

During the third edition of the game festival, Bruges CC will once again transform Bruges’ Koninklijke Stadsschouwburg into a giant game hall, full of surprising game installations, impressive creations, and innovative experiences. Once again, independent game developers will be offered a free platform and test audience during the game festival Playtime 20.22, as several game developers will introduce visitors to their latest creations. In collaboration with Howest, there will also be panel discussions on storytelling in games. There is also a VR room, all kinds of battles with famous Belgian comedian and gamer William Boeva, an e-waste workshop where devices are taken apart and made into new creations, and a game design course for different ages. If you can’t attend the event, a live stream will also be available. For more details, be sure to check out the official website.
