Dragon Quest XI – Special editions revealed!
Square Enix have revealed details about the special editions to be released for Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age. The special editions are called “Edition of Light” and “Edition of Lost Time”, and have both been announced at Square Enix’s E3 2018 showcase.
The ‘Edition of Light’ is a day one launch edition of the game that will be the same price as the standard version, but it includes several digital items as a bonus. This edition can already be pre-ordered at the Square Enix store, selected retailers, the Playstation Store, or Steam. The physical edition for PS4 comes with with a reversible cover featuring artwork from Akira Toriyama, and pre-ordering the PS4 physical edition via the Square Enix online store wil also include a Dragon Quest XI Lanyard. Pre-ordering via the PlayStation Store will grant the exclusive “The Legend Reborn” playstation theme as an instant reward, along with additional in-game DLC items when the game launches. Pre-ordering via Steam will reward a Steam exclusive wallpaper set featuring a range of vivid artwork, and also some additional DLC items: the consumable Seed of Skill x 15 and the neck-item Wings of Serendipity, which grants more rare versions of monster encounters. The base package of the Edition of Light contains Seed of Skill x 3, plus two accessory items: one which restores HP and one which restores MP.
The physical ‘Edition of Lost Time’ is only available for a limited time, and includes the basic Edition of Light package (seed of skill x 3 + accessory items), a 128-page hardback art-book, a 2-disc set featuring orchestrated versions of in-game music, a 50 x 38 cm cloth map of Erdrea, a collectible Steelbook case, and even more digital content: a consumable drink which peps up all active allies, and 15 more Seed of Skill.
Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age is planned to be released on September 4 for PlayStation 4 and PC.
