ECHOcast Twitch extension available for Borderlands 3
Today, Gearbox and 2K have announced the Borderlands 3 ECHOcast Extension, an official Twitch extension for Borderlands 3, created in cooperation with the streaming platform. This extension is available as of today.
This is just in time for the official Borderlands 3 Worldwide Gameplay Reveal Event at 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time today. Fans who link their SHiFT and Twitch accounts and tune in to streamers playing Borderlands 3 will be able get a head start on assembling their in-game arsenals ahead of the game’s release on September 13.
The Borderlands 3 ECHOcast Extension empowers viewers to look at the loadout of streamers, explore the contents of their backpacks and look at their skill trees. Special loot chests found throughout the game by the streamer will kick off opt-in events when they open them. If viewers opt-in to one of these “Rare Chest Events”, they could potentially get a copy of one item in the opened chest. Additionally, one lucky viewer will receive a SHiFT code that can be redeemed for the specific item they select from among the items in the chest. This item will be scaled to match their own in-game level.
