Espire 1: VR Operative’s Spectre update released on Oculus Quest
Publisher Tripwire Interactive and developer Digital Lode have announced their continued commitment to improving Espire 1: VR Operative, the award-winning virtual reality stealth experience, with today’s launch of the Spectre update.
Enhanced for the new Oculus Quest 2 and Oculus Quest, the update introduces two new playable weapons to the campaign mode. The weapons included are Spectre SMG and the Sawn-off Shotgun, offering both stealthy kills and the possibility to go all guns blazing respectively. Also included are two brand new challenges that will test experienced players, these being the hostage rescue challenge “Furcata” and the Takedown challenge “Mangua”.
Espire 1: VR Operative aims to set the new gold standard for the stealth genre in virtual reality –introducing the “Control Theatre,” a unique solution to the challenge of VR motion sickness. Any time players perform any artificial movement, the game world shrinks down to the size of a tablet, with the Control Theatre visible in the player’s peripheral vision. The Control Theatre is also customizable to suit the player’s level of comfort and can be fully disabled for those already used to VR movement.
