Fantasy Strike – Release date announced!

Good news for the fighting games fans; the release date for Fantasy Strike has been announced!

Fantasy Strike is a fighting game that can be enjoyed by veterans in the genre but also allows easier entry for newcomers.  As a newcomer, you will not have to memorize entire move lists and complex inputs since Fantasy Strike sticks to minimalist controls.  The game also features character tutorials and visual indicators to help you learn even better.

You will have to use strategy and take advantage of Fantasy Strike’s special graphical effects. These graphical effects will show the player who will recover first after every hit and in how much time. The character tutorials are voiced by David Sirlin, who besides being Fantasy Strike’s game director is also the lead designer from Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix.

“Online play is so important to fighting games that we’re trying to push the genre forward here,” said David Sirlin, game director, Fantasy Strike. “Part of that is on our technical implementation of networking which somehow allows me, in California, to play my friend in Tokyo and have it feel totally responsive and smooth. The other part is modernizing the genre conventions for user interface so it’s just a single click to challenge a friend online and a single click to watch any friend’s match. Come try it out with us on July 25.”

Fantasy Strike features an Arcade Mode, Boss Rush Mode, Ranked Mode, Four Survival modes, Daily challenge, Local and Online Versus. The online mode uses GGPO networking which offers a fast and responsive online experience.

Fantasy Strike will be released on the 25th of July 2019 for PS4, Switch, PC, Mac, and Linux.
