Fear the Wolves expands scope and improves new player experience in the massive Unified Update

Fear the Wolves, the unique FPS battle royale from Vostok Games continues its development in Early Access with the new Unified Update. This new patch focuses on improving the player experience with faster queues and more intense matches. It also adds new features such as a new waiting room, vaulting, voice chat, and more.

The name Unified comes from the new Unified game mode, which makes playing as a duo the default and put players together in the same matchmaking pool. If you prefer to play solo anyway, you can hoard all the gear for yourself but thus might leave you outnumbered. This way Fear the Wolves finds yet another way to create a unique battle royale experience, alongside their radiation system, treasure maps, PvE elements, etc.

The Unified Update also includes a completely reworked onboarding experience to go along with a new deployment phase. A new UI helps players navigate the new complex changes.

Finally, squad voice chat and vaulting get introduced. Both are vital to getting the game ready for its final launch in early 2019. It greatly improves the gameplay experience, particularly for those matching randomly with other players online.
