Final Fantasy VII Rebirth shows off its new world and drops a free demo
Sony released a State of Play presentation dedicated to the much anticipated Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, featuring new information and the surprise release of a free demo. The new trailer showcases a ton of information like the brand-new synergy abilities, where characters combine attacks to deliver devastating effects. Use these abilities while traversing a breathtaking open world where iconic locations, like the Temple of the Ancients, have been beautifully recreated. Traverse this world on the back of a Chocobo or the tiny Bronco-Plane and engage with tons of extra activities like minigames and side quests. There are hours upon hours of content to keep you entertained while you track down Sephiroth and save the world from the machines.
While all of this information is very nice, the biggest thing to be hyped about is the release of a two-part demo. The first one, titled “Fall of a Hero in Nibelheim”, features a flashback section where Cloud Strife revisits an earlier mission of his career. Fans will enjoy reliving this iconic sequence where they will travel to the city of Nibelheim along with the legendary Soldier Sephiroth. Face the monsters that have appeared in Cloud’s birthplace and uncover a dark truth. The demo will be getting an update on February 21 with the “Dawn of a New Era in Junon” where players get to explore a small section of the open world. This section has been specifically created for the demo and gives players the chance to get their hands on the new gameplay features. Because this is no actual section of the final game, progress can’t be carried over. Players who have completed the demo however unlock a kupo charm and survival set in the full game, along with the option to skip the Nibelheim section. This only gets players more excited before the full release of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on February 29.
