Final Fantasy XVI – New trailer revealed!
A new trailer for Final Fantasy XVI has been released by Square Enix Ltd.! This trailer is named ‘Ambition’ and shows players a more in-depth look at Final Fantasy XVI’s setting and lore, including the realm of Valistea and the rich cast of characters they’ll meet in the game. Final Fantasy XVI is a single-player action RPG coming to PlayStation 5 in Summer 2023.
The land of Valisthea is dotted with Mothercrystals, towering structures that spread aether. People have gathered around these crystals, using the aether for magic and to help them live in comfort. Valisthea is also home to incredibly powerful beings called Eikons. Each Eikon resides within a person called a Dominant, who is able to call upon their power. Each nation treats their Dominant differently; some are treated as royalty, while others are forced to become tools of war.
The story follows Clive Rosfield, a young man devoted to swordsmanship known as the First Shield of Rosaria, who is tasked with watching over his younger brother Joshua – the Dominant of the Phoenix. But unforeseen events set Clive on a dark and dangerous road to revenge.
The trailer will introduce two new Dominants: Dion Lesage, the Dominant of Bahamut, and Barnabas Tharmr, The Dominant of Odin. Dion Lesage leads the Dragoons – fitting as Bahamut is the Dragon King. Barnabas Tharmr, meanwhile, is a wanderer who used the power of Odin to quell the local beastmen.
