First details on RuneScape Kingdoms: Shadow of Elvarg revealed
Today, Jagex has revealed the first details for their planned board game RuneScape Kingdoms: Shadow of Elvarg. Later this year, the game will make its arrival on Kickstarter, featuring official RuneScape tabletop minis and fans will finally be able to own a piece of Jagex history.
RuneScape Kingdoms: Shadow of Elvarg is a cooperative campaign board game for one to five players that is set in the fantasy world of Gielinor. This game will provide you with a new way to play and provide a way into the exciting world of RuneScape. With a game board styled like a fast-travel map, you’ll enjoy the kingdoms of Asgarnia and Misthalin from above. You’ll have encounters with iconic bosses that’ll become tougher as you make your way toward the final quest.
The official description for RuneScape Kingdoms: Shadow of Elvarg by Steamforged:
“RuneScape Kingdoms: Shadow of Elvarg distills the classic, fun, high-fantasy adventures of the beloved living game into a tabletop experience. Gather your group and immerse yourself in the sometimes epic, often irreverent world of Gielinor. Whether you’re slaying mighty monsters, crafting awesome gear, or gathering eggs to bake that game-changing cake, RuneScape Kingdoms: Shadow of Elvarg lets you live your fantasy, your way.”
The board game will feature content from both Old School RuneScape and RuneScape, translating video game mechanics to a tabletop game with some new quests to boot. The first three miniatures have been revealed today, being player avatars including a knight in plate body armor, a wizard with a Staff of Air, and Elvarg, the titular green dragon from the Dragon Slayer quest.
