Forgive Me Father launches in Early Access today!
Arriving today on Steam, GOG and the Epic Games Store is the Early Access version of Byte Barrel’s new game Forgive Me Father. This terrifying retro FPS is set in a world inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft, and sees players embark on a maddening journey as they are the only sane person left in a God-forsaken world. In true Lovecraft fashion, possessed, eldritch horrors and other unspeakable abominations are on the prowl, and in order to make it out alive, players must engage these horrors in white-knuckle run-and-gun combat. With madness levels dynamically changing with each terrifying turn, players must keep an eye on their sanity level as well.
The game sets itself apart through its eye-catching hand-drawn universe, which appears like it was ripped out of a comic book. Every corner of this horrifying world is filled with hidden and hard-to-reach areas. With gameplay that harkens back to the classic FPS games of the 90s, Forgive Me Father provides players with a custom combat experience that requires decisions on how to evolve equipment while keeping one’s sanity. The Early Access version debuts with almost half of the content planned for the full release, including one of the first of two playable characters, six weapons, four skills, 15 enemy types, and two bosses spread throughout the 12 levels of the first two Acts of the story. Forgive Me Father is available in Early Access now via Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and other digital stores for 14.99 USD / 14.99 EUR / 12.99 GBP with a 15% launch discount during the first week. The 1.0 release on PC is planned for 2022.
