Frogwares expands on plans for new Sherlock Holmes game with World of Crime trailer
Frogwares is a veteran at Sherlock Holmes games, having created eight of them in the past two decades. The most recent one, The Devil’s Daughter, dates from 2016, and plenty of people have been eagerly awaiting word on a possible sequel. A few months ago Frogwares delivered, announcing Sherlock Holmes Chapter One. This time, his adventures take Sherlock to a Mediterranean island, a location not explored in this series before, where strange crimes and crafty criminals await them. The World of Crime trailer premiered just a couple of hours ago and can be seen down below. Further details have also been announced by Frogwares: the game will clock in around fifteen hours of gameplay at the very least, with five main quests and dozens of sidequests to explore. Combat, which has never been much of a factor in previous games will be more important this time around, though how is yet to be seen. Customization will also be more involved, allowing the player to collect several outfits for the famous detective and even decorate his beautiful island mansion to their own tastes.
In terms of development, Sherlock Holmes Chapter One is in its pre-alpha phase, with much more information coming during the winter months and an eventual release on PC, PS4, Xbox One and next-gen consoles planned to fall somewhere in 2021. Chapter One is a stand-alone game and not a direct sequel to the events of Devil’s Daughter.
