Detained: Too Good for School, an upcoming branching-narrative beat ’em up developed by O.T.K Games (known for The Vagrant) and published by Thermite Games, is set to launch on PC in 2024, offering gamers an intriguing and action-packed experience. In Detained: Too Good for School, players will step into the shoes of a determined schoolgirl, navigating the gritty streets of Swinster City after serving a six-month stint in juvenile detention. With a troubled past, including time behind bars and the tragic loss of her brother, our protagonist is ready to channel her pent-up frustrations toward the underworld. The player’s choice will dictate her path – will she become a vigilante, delivering justice to those who deserve it, or succumb to the allure of the criminal underworld?
The game’s combat system provides an adrenaline-pumping experience as players face off against waves of hooligans. A wide array of craftable weaponry and accessories, coupled with over 90 unlockable and upgradable skills, equips players with the tools to not only survive but thrive in Swinster City. Beyond combat, players will explore the city from dawn to dusk, attending classes to unlock valuable perks, training at gyms, and taking on part-time jobs and sidequests to earn extra income. Players have the option to team up with partners and other recruitable NPCs to tackle challenging raids against Swinster City’s most formidable adversaries, or they can take a darker path by assaulting civilians, all while avoiding the watchful gaze of the police. Detained: Too Good for School is scheduled for release on Steam for PC in 2024.
