Hogwarts Legacy – New gameplay video!
The upcoming open-world, action role-playing game Hogwarts Legacy gets a new gameplay video, showcasing three different aspects of the game! The video provides a glimpse into the open world outside Hogwarts via broomstick flight, takes a deeper look at the combat in the Dark Arts Battle Arena and explores the customization options in the Room of Requirement. This game is planned to be released on February 10, 2023, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X and Series S, Xbox One, and Microsoft Windows. Hogwarts Legacy is developed by Avalanche Software and published by Warner Bros. Games.
In the first part of the gameplay video, the player, a student of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry in the late 1800s, flies his broom low over the open world. Flying above the Scottish Highlands, the player lands to explore a hamlet, where he can meet various witches and wizards and participate in quests. The player then mounts an Onyx Hippogriff (a Hippogriff variant exclusive to pre-orders) to traverse the landscape when winter comes and the land is covered in snow.
In a more expanded look at the combat system, the player, wearing the Dark Arts cosmetic set, walks through the Forbidden Forest before riding a Thestral to the Dark Arts Battle Arena. The Dark Arts Cosmetic Set, Thestral Mount, and Dark Arts Battle Arena are available exclusively in the Hogwarts Legacy Deluxe Edition or purchased in-game in the Dark Arts Pack. The player immediately casts an Avada Kedavra spell to instantly make the enemy’s health bar go to zero. Tools such as potions and plants from the Room of Requirement can be brought into the fight by the player to defeat enemies more efficiently.
In the final video, the player visits the Room of Requirement. The entire room can be personalized and the architecture changed as the player conjures objects into the room. Charms can be found from Tomes and Scrolls in Hogsmeade or received as a reward for completing various activities in the game. Utensils such as plant pots and brewing stations can also be customized. During the course of the game, the player can conjure up the Loom, which allows him to customize his equipment and add magical properties. And finally, the player walks to the Vivarium where magical beasts are cared for. A Graphorn, Niffler, Kneazle and Mooncalf are shown. By petting and feeding a beast, they give the player the magical ingredients needed to customize and upgrade their equipment. A toy box is also available to play with the beasts, and players can give the beasts individual names.
