Home release: Winter’s Tale
Winter’s Tale is, like a lot of movies these days, an adaption of a book. The novel of the same name, released in 1983 and written by Mark Helprin, describes the quest of burglar Peter Lake (Colin Ferrel). During one of his hauls he falls in love with Beverly Penn (Jessica Brown Findlay). She return the feelings (as would happen in a romcom), but alas, trouble ensues when Peter’s former bandit boss Pearly Soames (Russel Crowe) returns for vengeance. Pearly also happens to be a demon, which tends to complicate things by a lot.
In supporting cast we have Jennifer Connelly, William Hurt and Will Smith.
This list of A-stars is directed by Akiva Goldsman, his directorial debut. You might know him from the screenplays for A Beautiful Mind and The Da Vinci Code. This also tells you this movie has a 50% chance to be actually awesome.
Winter’s Tale will be released on august 13th, on Blu-ray™, DVD, Digital Download en Video on Demand.
