How Story of Seasons players helped conservation of the Pine Hoverfly

Marvelous Europe and the Zoological Society of Scotland have proudly announced that they are ready to move to the next stage of their partnership with the completion of the new Pine Hoverfly Incubation room at Highland Wildlife Park. The new facility is the result of several funders chipping in, including a hefty donation of £20.000 from Marvelous themselves as part of the campaign for STORY OF SEASONS: Pioneers of Olive Town. Other campaign supporters included the National Geographic Society, Cairngorms National Park Authority, Forestry and Land Scotland and NatureScot.

Fans of the Story of Seasons series were able to compete in a seed-growing race, with the winner able to give the larvae room a name. The honour ultimately went to Ian Dransfield from Wireframe Magazine, who went for “It Must Have Been Larva But It’s Hover Now”. The room will be the home for pupae “Larva Croft” and “Pine-al Ritchie”, who were also named by competition participants. You can check out the adorable video about how Story of Seasons and the larvae room tie together below.
