Jeff and Abore join Double Dragon Gaiden as free DLC next month!

Maximum Entertainment and Secret Base have announced that Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons will be receiving a free DLC pack in April, introducing two new playable characters. This update is the first of several planned additions, with six more characters set to be released later this year. Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons is a side-scrolling beat ‘em up that reintroduces Billy and Jimmy Lee alongside new allies as they battle New York City’s criminal underworld. Players can execute powerful combos and special moves, utilizing a variety of unique characters with unlockable upgrades. The game also features a tag-team system, allowing players to select two characters for cooperative gameplay.
The new additions to the game include Jeff and Abore. A former childhood rival of the Lee brothers, Jeff trained in the martial art of Sōsetsuken but struggled to match their abilities. Driven by jealousy, he abandoned traditional training and adopted a fighting style that blends Karate with Sōsetsuken, resulting in an unpredictable and aggressive combat approach. Meanwhile, Abore is a formidable ex-soldier with immense strength, who fights with a calm yet overpowering presence. His resilience and sheer power have sparked speculation about his true nature, though he remains silent—letting his strikes speak for him. You can see these characters in action in the trailer below. Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons is available now on PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, and PS4. Ahead of the DLC pack, Double Dragon Gaiden: Rise of the Dragons is currently available at a 60% discount on PC and Nintendo Switch.
