Last Days of Lazarus launches tomorrow!
Tomorrow, June 22nd, sees the release of Last Days of Lazarus on Steam, after more than 2.5 years of development. This supernatural adventure game takes inspiration from Romanian post-communist history, local superstitions, and religious beliefs. It lets players experience an enthralling story about family, loss, and dark secrets, from a first-person perspective. While the background injects the game with political turmoil and a spreading malediction, the focus is on the emotional journey of Lazarus, after returning home and reconciling with his broken family plagued by delusion and sin.
Over the course of eight chapters, players will take a journey spread across five locations that take inspiration from real-life places in Romania. They’ll get a chance to explore mysterious settings, interact with questionable characters, find documents to piece together what happened to this troubled family, and solve light puzzles to progress. Last Days of Lazarus is a collaboration between Darkania Works and GrimTalin, two small indie studios from Iasi, Romania. The game is available from tomorrow on Steam for $17.99/€14.99. Later this year, Last Days of Lazarus will also arrive on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S, alongside a physical edition made in collaboration with Perp Games.
