Layers of Fear creators bring you a new Blair Witch game

This year at the E3 2019, the Xbox conference had a lot of games in store. One of the games was the unexpected Blair Witch, which will apparently come to Xbox and PC. If anybody remembers The Blair Witch Project, it was a mystery/horror movie from 1999, and one of the first movies that used the ”camcorder” gimmick as means of storytelling. This camcorder effect seems to come back in the new Blair Witch game when looking at the trailer the E3 dropped. According to the development team, the following would be what we could expect from the story:

”It’s 1996. A young boy disappears in the Black Hills Forest near Burkittsville, Maryland. As Ellis, a former police officer with a troubled past, you join the search. What starts as an ordinary investigation soon turns into an endless nightmare as you confront your fears and the Blair Witch, a mysterious force that haunts the woods.”

Looking at the style the game’s logo and colors present itself in, it might be closer to the Blair Witch movie from 2016 though. A movie also called ”Blair Witch”, also known under the title ”The Woods”. Are you excited about the game? It’s available August 30, 2019, for $29.99 as far as is known. Blair Witch can be pre-ordered now and will be also available through Xbox Game Pass upon release.
