LEGO Dimensions adds new franchises

Only a few days ago, it was announced that LEGO Dimensions recruited more iconic characters such as Joker and Harley Quinn from DC Comics as well as Doc Brown from Back to The Future. Today, Warner Bros. Interactive confirmed that LEGO Dimensions is adding new franchises as well.

Franchises that are being added to LEGO Dimensions on top of earlier announced characters and franchises such as DC Comics, The Lord of the Rings, The LEGO Movie, The Wizard of Oz, LEGO Ninjago and Back to The Future are:

  • The Simpsons
  • Doctor Who
  • Ghostsbusters
  • Portal
  • Jurassic World
  • Midway Arcade
  • LEGO Chima
  • Scooby Boo

Gamers who want to expand and personalize their LEGO Dimensions gameplay experiences can get a hold on Level Packs, Team Packs and Fun Packs which contain new characters, vehicles and gadgets based on the aforementioned brands.

Additionally, a new trailer has been released in which you can see that every LEGO vehicle and gadget can be build and re-build in real-life into three different objects, each with their own perks in the digital world of LEGO Dimensions. Players who receive achievements for building with actual bricks, will receive in-game instructions on how to re-build the same physical LEGO bricks to other vehicles and gadgets, offering even more in-game experiences.

LEGO Dimensions is planned to release on 29 September for Xbox One, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and Wii U consoles. The question that now remains is, which of these franchises are you most stoked about and which ones will you be getting?
