Life is Strange: Before the Storm – Launch celebrated with emotional new video
A new video has been released by Square Enix, this video portrays people reading their best friend’s letter to them. This video is very emotional and also made to unlock emotions with the viewer in line with the theme of Life is Strange. The video ‘An Open Letter’ was released to celebrate the release of Episode One from Life is Strange: Before the Storm.
Jon Brooke, Vice President for Brand Marketing at Square Enix: “I wanted to catch the emotion and spirit of Life is Strange in a way that you normally don’t see in commercials for video games. As a game this title dares to do something really different, being mainly about emotions which is rare for most video games.”
“We took a risk with this strategy and we only achieved the raw emotion in the video with the help of these few extraordinary people that were willing to open their hearts for the camera,” explains Ralphs creative director Gregor Stevenson. “The Raw intensity of their reactions as they read the most intimate thoughts of their best friends, was what pictured from the beginning and it was what we received”
Life is Strange: Before the storm is the prequel of the episodic franchise. The game is set in Arcadia Bay 3 years priors to the event with Max in the first game. Players take the role of Chloe Price. She is a rebellious girl that unexpectedly makes friends with one of the popular girls: Rachel Amber. They both rely on each other and their friendship to get through the hardships and unexpected turns of life.
