Lootbox Lyfe+ releasing next week
Indie publisher Ratalaika Games has announced that they will be publishing Lootbox Lyfe+, the newest game from Conradical Games, which is a combination of a Metroidvania and a hardcore platformer. The game tells the story of the species of Xoobotls, who become addicted to lootboxes that are introduced by the evil Shadowleaf Irvine. This addiction causes them to stop spending their money on food and water, leading to the population dwindling and the Xoobotls almost going extinct.
In the game, the player assumes the role of Liam Cappello, who is the last remaining Xoobotl. As Liam, the player must open lootboxes to gain powers and gradually become more powerful. The ultimate goal is to bring the Xoobotls back to their former glory. Despite the absence of enemies, the game is not an easy ride, as players will have to navigate dangerous environments filled with spikes, traps, and puzzles. The question is, will the player find a way to save the species, or will they succumb to the addiction to lootboxes?
The game features a range of environments, including a shadowy cave, a pink fungal wasteland, interdimensional structures, and a snowy mining outpost. Lootbox Lyfe+ will be available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Switch from February 24th.
