Make your own game with Pixel Game Maker MV for the Development Challenge and you might win big
Indie games have been on the rise for years now, with more and more enthusiasts grasping at the opportunity to make their wildest fantasy stories into games for the general public to enjoy. RPG Maker was one of the most popular game engines to work with, since it requires little experience or coding to still make some more than decent games, some of which even gained a cult following over time and got a Steam rerelease. Pixel Game Maker MV, which is actually a sister software to RPG Maker, is similarly easy to use and right now it might be in your best interest to start experimenting with it. Publisher Playsim and Developer Kadokawa are looking for talented game creators who work with this engine to join their Development Challange. The contest runs until 30 March 2020 and the grand prize is a decent sum of 1,000,000 Yen (or approximately 8 400 euros). The winning games are also in the running for being ported to Nintendo Switch and the possibility of getting adapted into books or comics if they’re popular enough.
