Marvel’s Avengers update introduces major new threat to Earth’s mightiest heroes: The Cosmic Cube
Today, SQUARE ENIX Ltd. announced that a new update to Marvel’s Avengers has gone live! It offers players a major new threat to combat: Scientist Supreme Monica Rapaccini’s Cosmic Cube.
During the events of Marvel’s Avengers Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect, the Avengers discovered the threat of a secret weapons project developed by AIM and scientist Supreme Monica Rappaccini: the Cosmic Cube. This incredibly powerful object first appeared in Tales of Suspense #79 in July 1966 and is capable of ruling over all matter and energy in the universe on an unknown scale. And now this weapon has fallen into the hands of the mad and genius brain of Advanced Idea Mechanics.
Now, the time has come for players to snatch the Cosmic Cube from Monica in a new Villain Sector mission available today: “Beating the Odds.” But the weapon’s immense power has made her an even greater threat, forcing the Avengers to use all their wits and superpowers to defeat her solo or in teams of up to four players.
In addition to the new Villain Sector mission, players can participate in the limited-time Cosmic Threat Event from June 24 to July 8. During this event, players must scour the world for cosmic energy trails emanating from Monica’s superweapon, the Cosmic Cube. Players who participate in special Cosmic Threat Event missions and complete Cosmic Damage challenges will be rewarded with a unique animated name tag, gear, and other valuable rewards. Can players prevent AIM from using the Cosmic Cube?
This new Cosmic Cube content continues the storyline of Marvel’s Avengers Operation: Hawkeye – Future Imperfect released in February and forms the basis for upcoming releases, including Marvel’s Avengers Expansion: Black Panther – War for Wakanda, which launches in August.
