When 2018’s Spider-Man game was ported to the PC, it was only a matter of time before the standalone game of Miles Morales would also follow. We loved how smoothly the remastered Spider-Man ran on PC, and we were secretly hoping to continue our journey with Miles Morales when the time came. Now is that time, and before we knew it we were slinging webs, punching baddies in the face, and of course, using Miles’ original Venom powers. As we already covered this game extensively when it came out on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, we will mainly take a closer look at PC performance and relevancy.

The Miles Morales game of Spider-Man takes place after the events of 2018’s Spider-Man. Even though the game begins with Peter Parker and Miles Morales battling against the inhumanly strong Rhino, it doesn’t take too long before Peter Parker is out of the picture. This game will revolve around Miles in its entirety, while he takes up the mantle of Spider-Man in Peter’s absence. Miles will have to use his wits and brawn in order to keep the city safe, especially since a new gang seemingly appears out of thin air. The story is presented in the same way as the original game, and this is not a bad thing. You’ll get a fair amount of cutscenes, fully voiced dialogues, and of course quite a bit of character development. Overall, the presentation is great, and we thoroughly enjoyed playing through the story. This one is a bit shorter than the original Spider-Man game, but you’ll still get around eight to ten hours of content if you focus solely on the story missions. If you focus on side content, you can probably double that time.

The overall controls are still great, and we perhaps found this one a bit more fluid than the original game, which is certainly a plus. You’ll learn a fair few combos quite early on, and with experience, you can unlock new skills as you go. You can adapt the game to your playstyle, which is also a huge plus. We do recommend playing the game with a controller, as this title is clearly made to be played with a controller.

Once again, you can opt to just play through the story content, but you’ll be missing out on a lot of fun side content that will unlock new stuff or items that will make you stronger to tackle the main objectives. We loved exploring the city and clearing all the side objectives one by one. That being said, a lot of the side content feels a bit similar after a while, and this may be something only completionists enjoy. Mixing in a few side missions will certainly be fun for everyone, as it also helps you to master and practice new skills, especially when you’re playing on a slightly higher-difficulty setting.

Conclusion

Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales is a great game to finally have on PC. Those who loved Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered on PC will certainly get a kick out of this one, as well as those who currently do not own a PlayStation 4 or 5 console. You’ll be treated to a fairly meaty game with a lot of side content to explore as well. We enjoyed zoning out while swinging through the city, busting bad guys, and finding collectibles. We will certainly be playing this one again in the future.
