Matte Black Studios and Apogee Entertainment announce LUCID, coming in 2024
Today, Apogee Entertainment and Eric Manahan of the Matte Black Studio announced LUCID, a brand new crystal-hopping adventure platformer, which is set to come to consoles and PC in 2024! Taking influences from titles like Super Metroid and Cave Story, LUCID presents a heartfelt adventure in a crystalline fantasy. Players venture across a massive overworld, solve challenging puzzle dungeons, and conquer white-knuckle combat to unlock powerful new abilities, revealing more secrets in previously explored areas. Tightly tuned for platforming perfection, LUCID embraces the flow-state fun of genre giants like Celeste while writing a love letter to the 2D golden age of Mega Man X and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past.
LUCID will debut in 2024 on all platforms of note, including Steam for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The release of the game might still be quite some time away, but in the meantime, we’ve got a trailer below to tide you over until then.
