Max, an Autistic Journey releasing soon
Max, an Autistic Journey is a collaboration between developer Stéphane Cantin and his son Max whom was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ASD for short. The narrative hits home for the developer but the general concept may hit close to home for many gamers as the game tells the tale of a child that has been diagnosed with autism. His imagination runs wild and life for him is not as we would normally see it. His parents, while devastated about the news, decided to do right by allowing their child to be happy. All of this is translated in a retro-styled top-down turn-based role playing game for PC.
Here’s what features we may expect;
- Classic turn-based battle system featuring clever weapons and special abilities to confront monstrous manifestations of emotions and anxieties
- Gain experience points through imaginary toy battles and by confronting your fears and anxieties to level up
- Core retro RPG mechanics infused with multiple Mini Games such as picture puzzles, race cars and making music
- Endearing tale of trials and tribulations from a unique perspective that inspires, educates and entertains as the story unfolds
- Full Mouse & Keyboard and Full Controller Support
- Steam Achievements, Cloud Saves & Trading Cards
The game will be available on Steam on August 19 for the suggested retail price of $5.99 or its local equivalent.
