Midgar Studio announces its second indie JRPG: Edge of Memories
A few years ago, we could enjoy Edge of Eternity, an indie JRPG churned out by a French developer after multiple failed crowdfunding attempts finally generated enough interest for an Early Access. Despite its rough start, the game saw quite some success and was enjoyed by many people. Midgar Studio now proudly announced they’ve been working on a second JRPG set within the same universe, called Edge of Memories. While not a direct sequel, Edge of Memories follows the example of other JRPG franchises before it by giving us a new cast and story that takes place in the same world we’ve explored before. Notable, the turn-based combat from Edge of Eternity has been switched for a more dynamic action RPG approach, but aside from that the most important change is the increased budget behind the game. Edge of Memories will release for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam near the end of 2025.
