More details of Final Fantasy XIV Online patch 5.5 revealed
Following the announcement of Final Fantasy XIV Online’s newest expansion pack Endwalker, Square Enix has also lifted the veil on what to expect from the next free patch, numbered 5.5. The patch is named Death Unto Dawn and will launch on April 13. Included in the patch is a two-part Main Scenario-quest that lays the groundwork for the events of Endwalker and the third chapter of the YoRHa: Dark Apocalypse alliance raid series. Updates to existing questlines and content are included as well, plus new trials and a dungeon. On April 13 the open beta for the PlayStation 5 version of Final Fantasy XIV Online also goes online for those interested, offering a free trial on the next gen console.
