Sometimes we underestimate the importance and qualities of smartphones in our daily lives. We are so used to using our phones for other things than actually calling people that we take them for granted. When we forget our phone somewhere or when it breaks down, we notice how reliant we have become on this small device, be it to make our daily commute more tolerable or simply to wind down after a busy day. Nowadays most smartphones offer a lot of entertainment options, but it’s still not that easy picking the right phone that suits your needs. We recently tried out the OnePlus 10T 5G which is a superb device that packs a proper punch.

Design

OnePlus’ smartphone is a very sleek and good-looking device. For our review, we were able to try out the Jade Green model, and we loved this softer color tone on the device. The smartphone itself is rather thin and has more rounded edges compared to other devices on the market. For the most part, you’re getting a traditional-looking device, safe for the aforementioned color scheme. The cameras on the phone’s back are clearly visible due to the different color tones, and the fact that there is a little protrusion on the backplate of the 10T.

Comfort

In terms of comfort, all modern smartphones are quite similar. The very glossy and smooth exterior of the phone makes it a bit more slippery than most, but this is something that is easily solved with a cover. Other than that, the device doesn’t have that many noticeable comfort features that truly stand out. You have basic features such as a lock screen button and volume controls. A normal power button is not present on the device, and you’ll have to combine the aforementioned lock screen button with the volume-up button in order to access the power options. We did find the volume control buttons a bit flimsy.

Overview

As is the case with most smartphones nowadays, the phone will guide you through a setup process in which you can set up your internet connection, select your preferences, link your Google account, and so on. The setup process is very straightforward and very slick. You will not have to go through long installation processes and you’re pretty much good to go after going through some basic settings

As we are a website that is all about gaming, we of course wondered how well games would run on the 10T. We installed a few of the heavier titles out there, and they all ran without a hitch. We can easily say that even booting them up went a lot quicker than other devices we have tried out in the past, or even those we use on a daily basis. You should have no issue playing more taxing games on this device, and that might just be one of its key selling points for gamers.

It’s clear that this device is meant for heavy-duty processes as you can even further expand your RAM if you still have enough storage space available. Thanks to this, you can give yet another boost to your gaming experience or simply have more apps run at the same time without slowing down your phone. We were quite impressed having a phone with already 16GB RAM at our disposal to then expand it further by an additional 7GB.

With a 4.800mAh battery, you’ll be treated to a fairly standard battery lifespan. If you use your phone a lot during the day, you’re probably still best charging your device in the evening or in the morning to ensure you can get through the day. The quick charge on this device, however, is phenomenal. In about an hour your phone will be fully charged and ready to go, so even if you don’t have that much time in the morning, you can still get enough juice to get through the day.

Even though we aren’t the best photographers out there, the 10T has a solid 50MP camera and a heap of different functionalities to make your pictures look better than ever. For this aspect, we suggest consulting the official page by clicking here.

Conclusion

The 10T is a very spiffy and powerful smartphone that still falls in an affordable price range. True, the device is slightly over the mid-range in terms of pricing, but it also offers a lot of options for those juggling heavy apps and heavier games. The phone runs basically everything without a hitch and, with the added performance modes, you can add some extra power to the mix and customize the experience to your liking. If you love to game a lot on your phone, and love to have some extra power, a decent battery, and a great camera, then we suggest looking into this one.
