PopSlinger is popping in on Nintendo Switch TODAY

Pop! Pop! Pop! From today on, you can shoot down interdimensional invaders and save the world in PopSlinger, now that it’s finally released on Nintendo Switch.

The vibrant musical shooter by developer Funky Can Creative is inspired by ‘90s anime. You can explore a hand-drawn, marker art style world inspired by City Pop album covers as Ria Carbon, a newfound soda-powered PopSlinger hero with magical powers bestowed upon her by a former PopSlinger Gin. Cruise alongside a Future Funk soundtrack reactive to Ria’s in-game performance as she blasts colorful goopy monsters into oblivion.

Features

  • Colorful, dreamy aesthetics inspired by 90’s Japanese animation, Pop art, and New Retro iconography from City Pop and Future Funk album covers.
  • A fully dynamic soundtrack inspired by French House, Future Funk, City Pop, New Jack Swing music genres.
  • Fully-voiced dialogue cutscenes with animated hand-drawn portraits.
  • Multiple summon abilities to aid in combat.
  • Arcade-inspired scoring mechanics and ranking system.

If PopSlinger’s launch on Nintendo Switch wasn’t exciting enough, the game’s whole entire soundtrack will be out on cassette tape and vinyl!! The devs were able to realize this by partnering with Neoncity Records. The tapes are available for purchase from Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2022, for $14 USD. The vinyl version will be available at a later date. We’ve got a review of the game lined up for you as well, so be sure to keep an eye out for that!
