It’s been a while since we were pleasantly surprised by Powerwash Simulator, a quirky simulator title we revisited quite a lot over the last few years. The game proved to be a relaxing experience solo but also with friends. We already saw DLC being released which brought us all the way to Bikini Bottom as well as Midgard. Now, we trade in the ocean view and RPG setting for something more trippy in the Alice’s Adventures DLC. While not extremely meaty in content, we were still very entertained.

The newest Powerwash Simulator DLC offers five new stages and three cosmetic items for players to experience. The new stages are extremely colorful and a fun, unique rendition of the classical Alice in Wonderland fairytale. Each stage has quite a few new items to clean, and the overall size of the levels is also not too bad. You can easily fill an evening or two with the content on offer. While we were able to get our fix of new Powerwash Simulator content, we wished there was actually a bit more. A few smaller stages in between the bigger ones would have been nice. The source material has quite a few interesting items that could have also been added.

The five stages that are in the DLC are also based on iconic scenes from the original tale. You will see where Alice entered Wonderland after tumbling down the rabbit hole, as well as the Mad Hatter’s tea party, and a few others. The iconic views will look nothing like the Disney renditions, however, and it’s clear that they did not withstand the test of time and have now turned into horrible messes. The overall design is great, and it was entertaining to see everything slowly being restored to its former glory.

We did encounter a small bug where the game would always reset our cosmetics to the stock skin of our powerwasher and our starting clothes. While this wasn’t game-breaking, it did become quite annoying, defeating the purpose of having cosmetics in the first place.

Conclusion

As a whole, we enjoyed our time with the Alice’s Adventures Special Pack, and we wished it wasn’t over so soon. It’s great to see that this quirky simulator title is still getting so much love, but we also feel that the paid DLC should be meatier considering the price tag. Nonetheless, if you’re a fan of the base game, and you want to clean a few new trippy environments, you can’t really go wrong with this one.
